How about as a difficulty level? Binro the Heretic 11/05/11, 09:23 | 0 | I was thinking money would be a necessity because any mad scientist is going to need equipment, chemicals, rubber gloves, etc. Not all of that can be found in quiet little villages nestled in the shadows of the Carpathians.
Also, if you add on to your castle, you have to pay contractors to do the construction (and maybe keep quiet about certain details). I mean, you don't want to have your flesh golems out there in broad daylight building a greenhouse.
And money can be a big help in endearing you to the locals and getting the authorities to look the other way.
Maybe the difficulty level can be decided by the amount of liquid assets you have at your disposal:
EASY - You're a trust-fund baby with an endless supply of family loot to fund your research
MODERATE - You start with a big stash of cash and have to earn more money but get big bonuses for reaching certain milestones
HARD - You start with a little nest egg and have to earn money
BRUTAL - You start with almost nothing and have to earn almost every penny
Possible avenues of income:
- Providing "treatment" for wealthy patients (replacing limbs, supplying "revitalizing" potions, curing a deceased loved one, etc.)
- Selling trinkets "salvaged" from corpses
- Grants from wealthy donors who think you're doing legitimate research
- Providing legitimate medical aid to the locals | | Previous - Next | Reply - Reply With Quote | | | | |
