I see the link to Red has been removed from the forum overview... Pouring out a 40 here. POE red is closed and will not be put up read only etc. Sorry, the moderators did not know about it so they could not respond. I had been wanting to see someone do something with it for a bit, Thor had no time himself and suggested it had a good run. I think he is right. Recently there has been some legal (criminal) issues involving the websites that I still cannot speak of because of a court order. They were classic stupid misunderstandings and the court having no sense of humor. I have never met a judge that accepted - but they were just joking! As one of my last acts, I took on the court's requests and refused to allow a user on the network to be dragged into stupidity. It really was stupid. But during this time the moderators here began actively removing all personal information that was being posted, that was ugly but the alternative was worse. And let me tell you, the joke posting of personal information really, really isn't a funny joke to me. I thank the moderators for putting up with the brunt of attacks on a subject they could not openly discuss and I probably shouldn't now, but really - DO NOT POST PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT REAL PEOPLE EVER! Without moderation and their own set of problems, both poesports and poe red were liabilities and problems. The number of death or legal threats I have received over poe red is unimaginable to anyone posting here and I would not wish that abuse on anyone. It even continues on today and no change in ownership/management will make that go away. Hell, even now the mods send me emails from people here who wish bad things on me or attack me for something and I haven't done anything on here for a long,long time. Awesome! That is a minority, but the delusional always seem so vocal. That has always been the struggle here, I really like a ton of people here. They are funny, insightful and I would gladly go grab a beer with them. But the people I don't care for, really like to remind me why I don't care for them... some people need real help. Poe-news, poeTV and WSG will all continue in the foreseeable future but they will be moderated. Give the moderators a break. The idea I told them, the sites belong to the users more than them. But there has to be rules, some of the rules like no posting porn are serious... but as long as people stay inside those rules, the mods should ignore it. So there you go.
