That being said, it seems every article I find cites research done by HRW. I recall correctly during their visit, they had a constant Hamas supervision.

Please understand, I take anything published by HRW with a huge grain of salt. I find their articles often vehemently biased and misleading. It often seems that they have perverted the nature of their work in order to vilify us. They seem to get funding from Saudi Arabia, despite their less than stellar human rights record.

A quick search of Israel in their website shows 30 pages of articles, nearly all of them condemning Israel. A search for Hamas shows only 7. Darfur also returns 30 pages.

The main issue is that when HRW actually has an actual record of human rights abuse, it is lost in the chaff. By constantly singling out and vilifying Israel their credibility has been destroyed. Most people here dismiss anything they say as a blatant lies or distortions.
