Upgraded to the new iphone 3gs.

0 | Well, I upgraded from the 3g to the 3gs over the weekend. Took a week for my phone to actually arrive. The upgrade was definitely worth it. Feels more like getting a new laptop or upgrading your computer than getting a new cell phone. Compared to the 3g, it is blazingly fast. Everything about it is faster. Quicker boot times, load times, etc. Games that had some choppiness to them are now very smooth. Even better, the increase in speed really helps surfing on Safari. THe bandwidth and latency are about the same, but the increased horsepower makes a noticeable improvement. It almost feels like going from dial-up and broadband. Webpages now just pop right up, rather than watching the status bar crawl, even on 3G (as opposed to wifi). I put the 3gs side-by-side to a 3g and it wasn't even close.
The extras like the improved camera, video, compus are nice, but not the reason to upgrade.
The downside, of course, is that you are on AT&T. Their network sucks, 3g speeds are pitiful, and I get the occasional dropped call. However since my company pays for my plan, I can live with it. | | Next | Reply - Reply With Quote | | | | |
