I have now seen David Lynch's DUNE for like the 100th time

and I still don't understand exactly why I love this movie so much. It is a conundrum.

Can anyone explain why a stiffly acted, ultimately flawed movie based on an equally stiff book gives me such a filmwoody? I mean, it's got Sean Young in it, for chrissakes.
