Portal of Bourbon Millard 02/29/08, 04:03 | 0 | I used to like making gimlets for myself, but damn if it isn't a lot of work to mix gin and lime juice. A friend of mine has been getting me into bourbon, though, which is easier: a little ice and a lot of bourbon makes me a happy man.
Thoughts on good brands to try out? I'm a little skeptical of the need to shop around. I've tried Eagle Rare and Woodford Reserve, which tasted almost identical to me. I like Old Weller Antique, which is 107 proof and has a nice little burn to it. My local wine store guy has a brand that's 122 proof but costs 80 bucks. I'm thinking a good price point is 30 bucks for a bottle or so. | | Next | Reply - Reply With Quote | | | | |
